The Precious Blood of Jesus…
Can there be remission (forgiveness) of sins without the shedding of blood:
Dealing with the sin problem.
Many of us take salvation for granted without stopping to meditate on what the object of our faith actually is. The 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 gospel is two main parts, one conquers sin (death of the Savior), and the other conquers death (His resurrection). We are to believe both to be saved. When we choose to believe the gospel, we are placing our faith in what Jesus Christ did. The Bible is clear on what He did that can deal with our sin problem, and it requires a believer in Christ to place their faith in it, perfect shed blood.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Why does God require perfect blood to pay for sins?
Man started out with the breath (Spirit) as his life.
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Then man sinned and brought forth death.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
The spirit was gone,
Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
and blood became the life.
Genesis 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
So, sin, which is iniquity, caused separation from the Spirit of God,
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Sin causes death,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Blood is now the life, life to pay for death, to bring us back to the Spirit.
But not just any blood, not just any life...
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
It used to be perfect animal blood.
Leviticus 16:27 And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.
But it was not a permanent solution. It had to be the blood of God.
1 John 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
The perfect life of God manifested in the flesh.
Romans 3:25-26 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Thank you Jesus Christ! It is finished.
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
So no, without the shedding of perfect blood, there can be no forgiveness of sins.
Whose blood is your faith in?
Jesus is coming soon!
See you in the clouds!
